If you're a victim, contact the FBI.
If you are the victim of an online or internet-enabled crime, file a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) as soon as possible. Crime reports are used for investigative and intelligence purposes. Rapid reporting can also help support the recovery of lost funds.
Fraud alert: Did you receive a message from the FBI?
The FBI will never call or email private citizens to request they move money via wire transfer, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or prepaid cards. You can always reach out to your local field office to confirm whether or not an email or message is actually from the FBI. And if you think you're the victim of a scam, report it to ic3.gov.
